Dr. Gerardi is board-certified in emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine, and internal medicine. He practices both adult and pediatric emergency medicine at Morristown Memorial Hospital and Goryeb Children's Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey. Dr. Gerardi is the Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine for the Atlantic Health System, at the Goryeb Children's Hospital at Morristown Memorial Hospital and also has privileges at Overlook Hospital's Pediatric Emergency Department. Dr. Gerardi has a faculty appointment at the University of Medicine and Dentistry - New Jersey Medical School.

Dr. Gerardi is a recent past chair of the American College of Emergency Physicians' (ACEP) Pediatric Emergency Medicine Committee and a current member of the ACEP Medical Legal Committee. Dr. Gerardi is on the Board of Directors of the Emergency Medicine Patient Safety Foundation and the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association. Dr. Gerardi is President and CEO of Superior Risk Retention Group. He is the past President of the New Jersey Chapter of ACEP. Dr. Gerardi serves as ACEP's liaison to the Pediatric Subcommittee of the American Heart Association's Emergency Cardiovascular Care Committee and also serves on the AAP/ACEP's Advanced Pediatric Life Support Course Task Force. Dr. Gerardi lectures frequently throughout the country on emergency medicine topics.
